North Africa
North Africa’s unique geography has played a major role in the migration and establishment of ethnic and language communities in the region. North Africa is difficult to access due to mountain ranges in the north, rough coastline, and massive deserts. Trade routes and nomadic lifestyles contributed heavily to modern day North Africa. Many ethnic and language communities in North Africa are isolated from the urban centers and do not have access opportunities for participation among the majority cultures. ILAD desires to serve these under-resourced groups through language development and economic opportunity.
