The war in Ukraine has negatively impacted healthcare for millions both inside Ukraine and those living as refugees in border countries. This is particularly true for minorities like the Roma. ILAD is working to equip the Roma and their Ukrainian neighbors with the knowledge, skills and resources to provide their own basic healthcare through first aid training, health and hygiene training, and equipping community members as community health volunteers. We supplement this with periodic visits from medical teams, chaplains, development specialists and other educators to help address the acute health issues, traumas and root causes of suffering and poverty in these communities.
