Dallas/Fort Worth Refugee Business Training
Region: United States
Competency: Business Development
The Dallas/Fort Worth Business Development Center equips refugees with the tools and coaching needed to launch and run their own businesses.
Dallas/Fort Worth is one of the largest areas for resettlement in the nation. There is considerable need for services supporting refugees, especially in business training. Refugees arriving in DFW come from all over the world, fleeing oppression and war, hopeful for a better life in the United States. However, because of language and culture barriers, refugees often find it necessary to take jobs below their skill level in order to make a living. Starting a business can be a path towards dignified work and support for their families.
ILAD, in partnership with Opportunities NOW (ONOW)*, helps create opportunities for entrepreneurial refugees to flourish here in DFW.
*ONOW has over a decade of experience successfully helping migrant women in Myanmar start and run their own businesses.
